Looking at the photos and the figure while writing this I can say that the tiny imperfections are impossible to spot while looking at him on my desk, I only noticed them in the very zoomed in pictures. I have only a nendo on hand while whiting this review so you can see how he compares. Also, if youre like me and you have the Lio Kotobukiya figure, you just dont need the regular PUP since its the same pose with a cooler base. So factoring the 1/7 scale that would make him 147cm tall, a little on the small side for a 1/7 scale as his height according to Google is supposed to be 158cm. The figure is approximately 25cm with the base and 21cm without, weight is 380g. A lot of work went into the sculpt of the hands and the flame detail, very well done.

All the buckles and frills are also painted and sculpted well. From the original anime movie PROMARE comes a figma of the Burnish Lio Fotia A flexible plastic is used for important areas, allowing proportions to be kept without compromising posability. He comes with three face plates including a serious face, a shouting face and a grinning face.
#LIO FOTIA FIGURE SKIN#
The shading on the figure is mostly done by color blocking like the anime but the skin on the hands and the frills have realistic shading. The slick black outfit is made very lively with the two-toned shadow addition. I especially like the turquoise – magenta shadows in the character design. The hair seam is noticeable but not too bothersome. There is some excess plastic on the bangs, a scuff on the back of the hair and some scratches on the base that don’t show on photos other than that he is a solid piece. In person his hair looks closer to the artificial lighting shot. Below is a shot comparison so that you can see. I don’t know the reason but his hair looks a little yellow photographed in natural lighting compared to artificial. Because of the pose and his huge bangs which cover his face I think the figure is best displayed on, or above eye level. The pose is very expressive and true to character. The flame base is well sculpted, maybe a little too shiny for my liking but the colors and gradient are really good. The pegs are pretty short but the set-up appears to be stable. There are no assembly instructions but it is pretty straight forward. Lio comes in two parts the figure and the flame base. The box has this trippy psychedelic aesthetic that I really like that the movie also has. Its dimensions are: width 17cm, length 17cm, height 35cm. Lio comes in a tall skinny box which kinda looks like a doll box in proportions. The animation is very dynamic, the characters are likeable, it’s just a ton of fun! This is one figure I actually got because I loved the source material first, not the other way around :) I love the art and aesthetic of studio Trigger in general but this movie I particularly enjoyed. Lio is one of the two main characters from the movie “Promare” by studio Trigger. Hello, today I will be reviewing the 1/7 Lio Fotia scale figure by Kotobukiya.
